I read something today that said “you are not normal, you are common”,
And I don’t think it can be said any clearer,
It is one of the greatest lessons to be taught.

Just because your skin is so light I can see your veins underneath it,
Does not mean that the president of your country is not normal because his
Ancestors come from places where the sun darkened their hides.

You are lucky to have always felt comfortable with your gender,
But you are not any more normal than your next door neighbor,
Who has been binding her breasts since they started blooming.

If you can look into the crowd and see hundreds of others that look like you,
Then you are more common than most,
But do not let this get you down.

You know who you are down in your core,
And only you can understand your dreams and potential.
You need to know that who you are is far greater than normal.

But those who carry their weaknesses on the outside,
Those who make their differences more visible than you do,
It is really important that you realize that they are great too.
