“BREATHE AIR EMBRACE LIGHT” by Vijay Singh

There is courage;
And thrill;
In the vulnerable trust,
Which is the core of intimacy

There is wired-in pleasure
Even easy ecstasy
In involuntary surrender
To life’s flow
In the act of fuck,
An original biological imperative

Yet, in spite of precious rewards,
Intimacies between men and
Women are rare, for there are
Risks involved; fickle tendencies
of human brains soon come out

So it is that I might be unwise
In ignoring intimacies, which
Are ubiquitous, riskless, even
Wired in; these are with oxygen;
And photons; in the air that
Brushes my hair; and in the light
That wakes me with a kiss at dawn

Hence I will breathe the air deep;
And embrace light passionately,
Whilst they are free,
And my lungs work still
