Or Were They Sewn Into A Patriotic Flag
on high in the east, well above the water,
the moon hung his better half while the sun
shone fire and white birth behind our backs
so when the water washed in silver it stayed
on the shore golden wax, incandescent and
solid like a top-sheet over our twined legs
enmeshed in sea nets the maelstrom concerns
of our real lives couldnt hit if they were
shooting stars in a planetarium.
