There is no worse scene
than two cats playing with a live baby bird
on the edge of your driveway.
No worse sound than that bird,
underneath the morning chirping of other robins,
shrieking as it lies flat on its back.
Of course, there is no worse feeling 
than using your own force 
to clap a brick against the asphalt
and flatten the maimed fledgling
because the cats were just getting started.
