“JOURNEY HOME” by Vijay Singh

With a jerk, train began to roll;
Waves of ecstasy flooded my
Belly, then soul; with energy
Borrowed from train, my being
Accelerated to the rhythm of
Wheels on steel; it was ecstasy!

Arriving, getting off the train,
My eyes were flooded with a
Crowd of thousands, a brief
Stroke of panic flashed; then,
Equally suddenly, bliss flushed
Through my heart as among tens
Of others, my father’s face emerged

In energy is ecstasy
In intelligence, bliss
