two poems in a row where i mess up the font and it switches back to default. oh wells.
Oh, well, indeed. Doesn’t matter. The power of the words obscures any font issues! The images, the cadence, the ideas are exquisite. I think this may be my favorite of all your poems I’ve read. My love of Hildegard may be a slight influence there, but you have done her proud with this poem!
I’m also partial to Hildegard, so thank you. Love the lines – “or picked up by a child/who breathes us again into flight.”
The “again” in there just echoes beautifully. Well done.
This poem would be great with one voice, the poet’s reading and a chorus chanting or softly singing the refrain. Great job…

I do love the manner in which you have framed this specific situation plus it really does present me a lot of fodder for thought.
