Today’s featured guests on Accents Radio will be Lynnell Edwards and Julia Johnson to discuss the Writer’s Block Festival in Louisville, KY, among other things. Plus, special guests Kate Greenstreet and Peter Davis will drop by to discuss their reading at the Black Sheep Reading Series at Black Swan Books in Lexington!
Lynnell Edwards is the author of three poetry collections from Red Hen Press: Covet (2011), The Highwayman’s Wife (2007), and The Farmer’s Daughter (2003). She is currently Spalding University’s Associate Professor of English and teaches creative writing at The Carnegie Center in Lexington. She currently lives in Louisville, KY.
Julia Johnson’s poetry has been published in such journals as Third Coast, Poetry International, Cake Train, and more. Her first collection, Naming the Afternoon (2002), was published in 2002 by The Louisiana State University Press and her second book, The Falling Horse (2002) came out of Factory Hollow Press. She is currently an Associate Professor of English at the University of Kentucky.
The Writer’s Block Festival “celebrates literature and the writing craft” (from their website). It will feature Frank X Walker, Timothy Gautreaux, and many more! The event begins Friday night at the Bard’s Town Tavern and continues Saturday on East Market Street in the NuLu shopping and entertainment district.
