Morgan Adams, author of In Nonestica, founded Osedax Press in 2013, which specializes in the “poetic, strange, and uncountable”. The press’s Scrimshander Books series is accepting submissions until May 26th, 2014, which is exactly one week away. They are looking for poetry, prose, nonfiction, and art on the following topics:
- Death: And Its Problems
- Beneficial Exercises for Heart Disturbances
- Facts You Should Know About Digestion: A Trip Through the Alimentary Canal and What Happened There.
The Scrimshander Books series is based on Little Blue Books.
According to Adams, Osedax Press “specializes in small, limited-run publications such as zines, chapbooks, and broadsides.” The website’s landing page defines an “osedax” as “a species of deep sea worm that feasts only on the bones of dead whales.”
