“On Beginning Lexington Poetry Month” by Mary Allen

Start with determination to craft some lines each day.
Forget that a time may come when will to persevere
is lost at cost of losing face and fall from poets’ grace.

But if procrastination should become your lot,
take up the pen, begin again with resolution
to write on, and on, and on, each day.
