June 4 poem by Mary Allen

Nineteen years past
Gulliver hovered outside
our Short Street house, discovered
he could cast off his wandering ways.
Clad in orange and white fur coat,
he sauntered with confident authority
and Marmalade Muchness became his sobriquet.
His Muchness traveled on today.
