“Silly Things” by Tyler Worthington

when we’ve got something to do
we do all sorts of silly things
like making marks designated as a form of communication through a cultural language system designed to create
a commonality within a geographical space among earthlings of that region of earth space
which serves its purpose as a tool for teaching culture and to get specific
this culture has constructed a syllabry composed of twenty six symbols which
when combined form what has been termed “words” each with a specific meaning
and words can be any length necessary these words are accompanied by punctuation marks
which designate breaks in entire sentences which are combos of word-thoughts
that start then arrive at a safe and entirely absolute completion.
All this and more is expressed on “paper” a material made through the manipulation of wood fiber
then stabbed with ink to create the visualization of thoughts
seems kinda silly to go throug all that trouble huh?
what should i write about
what would you like to hear
most people just want to gripe about the weather
especially when it rains
like rain has just been discovered
like it’s never happened before
should i write about the bad dreams
the people on their way to where
do we really even care
or at least care to ask
should I write about working at a gas station
sure
like anyone would care to read that
should i write about gardening
ok
wait, about how to go about gardening?, im more likely to seek help than give it
about gardeners? about what gardeners think of other gardeners? about what gardeners think of me?
about the old ways and the trade secrets?
about my gardening?might as well write a tale of loss and tribulation
like anyone would care to read about that
should I write about me relationships?
which ones the failed ones or the dying ones? the salvaged ones or the ones that have left the nest?
the fleeting ones?the long ones? the ones that seemed to drag on as if they have been long but ended up a memory?
the ones I’ll always cherish? the ones that wake me up in the middle of the night? the ones that I can’t sleep without?
the ones I wont let go? the ones I’ll toss a curve ball with to disorient and as soon it leaves my fingers I run far away?
the ones I got closer to over time? the ones I lay awake at night wishing I was close to? the ones I regret? the ones I
wouldn’t change if I could?
like anyone would care to read that
oh well
people do all sorts of silly things I’m no exception
