“Life Through a Screen” by Tyler Worthington

I watched the snow falling
and for a second it would seem
that I’m floating through infinite space
the stars i pass them by
and they leave what remains of their silent journeys
and the only things around me
are the stars in the night
and the radiant suns
lonely street lights
where I’m going I couldn’t tell
even if i tried
nothing but my innermost soul
driven by whims knows why
forward i fell
but there i must go
until my soul feels safe to dwell
among the stars and the suns

and so to never change
is sign of life to me
I’ve been looking out my window
trying to find something i can’t see
i guess it isn’t all its cracked up to be

life turns us into poets
and sometimes James dean
life is like a schizophrenic soap opera
playing out past a window screen
but life is supposed to be more than those things
that we all know just end up giving us grief
those who die unto themselves
become images for the whole world to see
so we pretend that changes everything
but us actors already know
that hasn’t changed a thing
