“Skeleton Dream Keys” by Bernie DeVille

Vivisectionist nightmares,
sifting through the entrails of
a repetitive dream trying to reclaim
the sleeping beauty of sin.
Deeper.
Through rocks framed together by
the skeletal remnants of a leviathan age
beneath the winds, lodged in the shoals
where Death walks dry through dark green waves.
Mossy bones remain at the bottom, gently awaiting aquarian nibbles.
Between the supraorbital and the zygomatic aperture a small fish swims.
Floating, we are both cradled by the water.
