to live above the world.
I chose not to be caught up 
in the muck and mire of today’s values.
Some scoff with their vulgarities,
such simple mindedness,
making a mockery of a Deity
who takes no pleasure in their demise,
but I will take the high road.
I will exist on a higher plane:
feed the poor, visit the sick,
lift up the downtrodden,
encourage the weak.
