I dream a house on a rock
nosed by the sea
where waves bore through teeth
bones litter the land
a man holds a broken lamp
his wife rubs polish on the door
a daughter chases scraps of paper
calls to a rising bird
windows wick in light
particles fall on their arms
like little letters
~ Found poem composed/modified from Virginia Woolf’s novel To the Lighthouse, p. 9
So like these found poems!
I love writing them!
I’m enjoying these, Karen.
Do you use lines lifted &/or modified, or are the words gather from separate places & mixed together?
I write the words down on a 8x 11 notepad in columns by nouns/pronouns, verbs, adj/adverbs, and etc, then just see what images rise up.
