I settle on the shaded wall of tucked stones
that shows Earth’s dark turns
looking for words to change minds, bury fires
tired of all the world’s anxiety, agony
I find comfort under big oak branches
spread like familiar shoulders
sun shining through new leaves
the air filled with camellias, coffee, the tilled field beyond
