Aside from the cash prize, The winner of the contest will be featured in The Louisville Review, the literary magazine of Spalding University’s MFA in Writing.

The Writer’s Block Festival is one of two big annual literary events run by Louisville Literary Arts, the other being the InKY Reading Series

In 2011, InKY Reading Series changed their official organization name to Louisville Literary Arts, presumably so that they could host more events than just InKY (source). The official mission of Louisville Literary Arts is “to enrich the literary arts in Louisville by engaging readers and writers” (source).

Among LLA’s board of accomplished authors and literary folks is Accents-published author Lynnell Edwards, who is a glassblower and author of Kings of the Rock and Roll Hot Shop. She is also included in Circe’s Lament: Anthology of Wild Women Poetry.
