I welcome Thee!  Words make me hungry.

I yearn to be lost in words and incarcerated by sweet sounds.

I thirst to taste the illuminating alliterations on my tongue.

I fancy dancing dynamically through dénouement. 

I crave for the cacophonic kiss of words that cradle the fist. 

I long for lounging in lyrical madness, simple sadness,

gritty gladness and the soft wily sheets of morn. 

Words are the essence of my biting breath,

the thing that I chew on when I cannot rest.

Words live inside of me, sleep beside me, and

grow tired of me, but for now, they cannot hide from me.

As life digests my breath, and the syllables become short,

my vertical longings dash—

towards death’s horizontal door, with a supple churning zest. 

The edacious caress of a naked

appendix—of All the Wonderful Words—that I can choose,

that I can lose, that I can use, to express, to suppress,

to test the confines of my pen,

or the paper nest of my flitting soul.

Words, they clamor and they control,

as I seek to devour them whole!

The very success of my voracious undress

depends greatly on their hold.

Words are the tools of geniuses and fools,

of which I hope I am one, at best. 

Words are my seek and find, my lost and found;

their expression is my affection and my detention. 

The layered lexis perplexes my lonely lips

as whisper’s quotient flexes my hips. 

I can be driven by coursing sounds,

or the graceful trace of silent bounds. 

Their significance is of deep consequence

as I fight to steer the battled breadth deeper inward

so that when I flee from the poor old story,

my words will not be lost sentiments but outward expressions

that friends and enemies engulf and explore. 

And as my capillaries, veins and ivy arteries nourish

my body, words feed my heart and my heart feeds my words.    

Now, my only wish for words

is that they too,

were ravenous for me

instead of you.
