“Same Ol’ Resurrection” by Tyler Worthington

from death comes life
or so that’s how it goes
just as spring
and its charms reawakening
follow the silence only winter can bring
loud hues of green resolute against the soundly sleeping trees
clouds dodge and shift
like the patterns of a patchwork quilt
silver and grey somber mood inducing muses
they keep everyone inside of their minds
hoping to protect what might be lost with chances of rain
thunder and sirens far removed
breaking the stiff air into chords
as water from the heavens hint at their indifference to what they find
all the while robins and finches sing with glee
mockingbirds join in ecstatically
trees haven’t yet found their inspiration
empty branches un-bothered by any indifference
taking leisure with ease
I envy the freedom they exhibit
to do as one does and with pleasure at that
just waiting to wake up
to each its time
as life all around sways anyways it may please
there will be life
peace of mind
call it what you will no matter the view
being will renew
and the system works so im told
like the trees may I wake up soon
