Lexington Poetry Month

Accents Publishing is proud to announce that June 21^st, 2013 will mark the inauguration of Lexington Poetry Month! A celebration of Lexingtonian poetry, the event is a collaboration between Accents Publishing and the Morris book shop, two Lexington, KY institutions dedicated to spotlighting talented local artists. The event is a challenge to each and every poet in, from, or in love with Lexington to write at least one poem every day during the month of June.

Sign-ups start on April 15^th and last until May 31^st, at which point each entrant must write at least one poem a day and submit it to Accents Publishing. Chosen poems will be featured on the Accents Publishing Blog, and some will even be interviewed!

At the end of the month, participating poets are invited to share their new work at the Morris book shop at 5pm on Sunday, June 30^th. The best poems will be chosen for a limited edition compilation edited by Accents’ Katerina Stoykova-Klemer and Hap Houlihan of the Morris book shop as part of the Lexington Art League’s Community Supported Art project.

So whether you’re a professional poet or an amateur orator, mark your calendar for Lexington Poetry Month!

I am interesting in attending poetry workshops. When is your next one scheduled? I am also very interested in signing up for Lexington Poetry Month.

Dear Betty, the next workshop that I will teach and you are very welcome to sign up for starts this July. It will be at the Carnegie Center. Also, I look forward to reading your work this June, and writing together with you!
