“A Small Request upon Leaving” by Leigh Anne Hornfeldt

Don’t let me
know
there is a time,
a small,
teeny-tiny moment,
or an empty
silver frame, in which
my face
should appear.

This poem mystifies me. Is it about our so-called fifteen minutes of fame? Is it more romantic than that? This has a brightness to it that creates irony with the title. It makes me think–and that is always good!
