“Love Like Laundry” by Savannah Sipple

There’s a quarter stuck
in the dryer. To get my clothes dry,
I have to hear it clip clip clap
clap as it sings around we go, around
we go, around we go, around we go.

You and I, this thing we have, we just circle
each other in pivotal heat, clatter together like change
in a machine, but the only things we get,
the only things I walk away with,
are pocket lint and a body full of wrinkles.

very nice.I once read a poem about how vulnerable one can feel with the intimates on show at the laundromat.
