The Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning is hosting one of its quarterly KY Great Writers Series. The featured readers will be Sharon Mauldin Reynolds, Accents Published Tom C. Hunley (of Scotch Tape World), and Paulette Livers.
An open mic will take place before the show, and sign-ups begin at 6:30pm. The open mic will also feature readings from students from the Carnegie Center’s Author Academy.

The KY Great Writers Series will be tonight at the Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning in Lexington, KY. An open mic will precede the event at 7pm and sign-ups will begin shortly before that.
Joe Survant hails from Owensboro and was the Poet Laureate of Kentucky from 2003-2004. His newest book, The Land We Dreamed: Poems(University Press of Kentucky) came out in February.
Eric Scott Sutherland is a hawk watcher, Kentucky creek walker, tree loving Lorax, community and event organizer, the author of two chapbooks and the full-length collection incommunicado (2007). pendulum (Accents Publishing) is his fourth book of poems. He is the creator and host of Holler Poets Series, a monthly celebration of literature and music since 2008. Eric makes his nest in Lexington. Follow Eric and Holler at www.ericscottsutherland.com.
Erin Keane recently released Demolition of the Promised Land, a collection of poetry that has Bruce Springsteen as “guide, ghost, and accidental guru” (source). She has also published Death-Defying Acts and The Gravity Soundtrack. She is also a pop culture writer with published articles all over the place.

The Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning in Lexington, Kentucky is hosting it’s Kentucky Great Writers Series. One of the featured readers, Lisa Williams, is a recurring guest on Accents Radio, and was featured on August 29th’s Accents Radio show, as well as read as one of the features at the Kentucky Women Writers Conference’s Stars with Accents reading.
Williams will be reading from her Barnard Women Poets Prize winning poetry collection Gazelle in the House (New Issues Poetry & Prose 2014).
The event will also host Courtney C. Stevens and her debut novel, faking normal, as well as Don Lichtenfelt and his memoir from Wind Publications, Goodbye Lake Huron. And, as an additional treat, the event will be hosted by friend of Accents, Leatha Kendrick.
The open mic will start at 7:00pm, so be sure to find a seat a few minutes early.
