“Weather Depending” by Andrei Guruianu

Bigger Than They AppearWhen eternity began its incessant barking
I slipped on the muzzle, took it for a walk.

What a beautiful specimen, said one.
What sunken jowls, said another.

We pulled in different directions,
arms straining in their sockets.

We looked like old chums.
The knife respectfully out of sight.

-Andrei Guruianu

“There are sharp flashes of light, moments when the miraculous world reveals itself to us swiftly, fully. And, because the mind is also a miracle, the lucky words sometimes arrive to capture that revelation and through it witness what it means to be alive. That is the gift of this gorgeous collection.”

– Mary Ann Taylor-Hall
