“Cheeseburgers” by Dean Crawford

Bigger Than They AppearThere’s a legend about Richard Brautigan
buying a house in Marin County.
He replaces everything in the house with books,
everything:

plumbing,
heating/cooling,
electrical wiring,
appliances,
and furniture.

I know a guy who knows the guy who buys the house
from Brautigan. He replaces all the books
with cheeseburgers.

-Dean Crawford

“What a cache of treasures this collection is, what a cache of jewels. […] All are reminders of what the best, briefest poems can do: give back the world to us, as it passes, in the mirror of a few well-chosen words.”

-Cecilia Woloch
