Lexington poets, rejoice! Your hard work from last year’s Lexington Poetry Month has been compiled into the best from each of our 75 participants in Her Limestone Bones, a 122-page, five section collection featuring our favorite poems from last year’s event. The works have been carefully sifted through and edited by Hap Houlihan and Accents Junior Editor Christopher McCurry.
Last year, Hap Houlihan of the Morris book shop and Katerina Stoykova-Klemer created a month-long event in June where participants wrote a poem a day (every day) throughout the month. Everyone sent their poems to the Accents Blog and we published each and every one of them so that we could highlight the brilliant voices here in our hometown of Lexington.
Her Limestone Bones (a name borrowed from the poem “Kentucky” by Beatrice Underwood-Sweet), will start shipping on May 1st. But the best part is that each participant with a poem in the book will receive one free copy, which you can pick up at our event on May 4th at the Morris book shop. Please stop by to show us your support!
